One Last Birthday Post

I have one more for you all about our fun night with my fam! We had a fun night out to dinner for some awesome seafood and good times with our family!

New Town

So last Saturday Zach had to work on my Bday so my Mom, my niece, and I hung out during the day and did a little exploring around a new area in St. Charles. It's a new community development that is based off of the idea of Seaside, FL called New Town! You may remember some of my posts from last August, but my family has gone to Seaside the last 2 summers and it is now one of our favorite beaches! So when I found out that there was a community in STL based on the idea of Seaside, I was dying to see it! Below are a couple of pics of the development. 

The houses and condos are located around lakes since there is no ocean in Missouri! :)

If the community wasn't so far away from the city, I would no doubt want to move there, just for the sense of feeling like I was living in Florida!

Zach and Cristin's Day-of-Fun

Some may know, but my and Zach's birthdays are a day apart so we end up doing something for the whole weekend whenever this time of year comes around. This year Zach had to work on my birthday but got the day off before so we spent some time in the city, doing some thrifting, going to the park and driving around looking at different neighborhoods. (We really love doing this) We started the day with free chick-fil-a biscuits and a free smoothie king smoothie! Gotta love coupons.

We went thrifting and saw this awesome Schwinn bike in perfect condition and then went to a cute little book store in an old house.

After that we got some delicious cupcakes and spent some time hanging out at a park!

On our way back from the city we stopped by this old house with some neat antiques and a backyard filled with some amazing treasures!

Such a fun day with my hubs!

Spring Garden Box

This past weekend Zach and I took on the project of building a garden box in my parent's side yard. We were kind of nervous at first and didn't really know where to go with it, but it ended up being a lot easier than expected!

We ended up making the box 3x5' and 12" deep.

We bought some cedar planks and hand them cut down and it was as simple as screwing the edges together, adding a second row and screwing them both into four 2" square spindles.

Now all we have to do is fill it with soil and starter veggie plants! We are going to wait a few weeks to make sure the temps don't get to low at night. But I can't wait to eat some fresh veggies from the garden this summer! And now we know how to build our own once we get our own place!
